Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm the pain.
Manual therapy and gentle movement ease the irritation so walking and sleeping get easier.
What We Treat
A pinch in the front of your hip, an ache on the side when you lie down, or stiffness that makes socks a project. Hip pain is common, and it’s very treatable.

Why It Happens
Hip pain can come from the joint itself, the tendons and muscles around it, or even the low back. Weak hip muscles, joint stiffness, arthritis, and long hours of sitting all change how your hip handles load, and the result is pain where you feel it most.
A cause-first evaluation sorts out whether your pain is coming from the hip, the tendons, or your back, then builds a plan to restore motion and strength where it matters.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for hip pain.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Manual therapy and gentle movement ease the irritation so walking and sleeping get easier.
Weeks 2–5
Prime
We work on hip mobility for getting in the car, putting on socks, and climbing stairs.
Weeks 5–10
Perform
Glute and hip strengthening so your hip handles walking, standing, and your activities.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
A maintenance routine keeps your hip strong and mobile for the long run.
Where it starts: a pinch every time you get out of the car and nights you can’t lie on your side.
Where the plan is headed: walking without a limp, easy stairs, and sleeping on either side again.
Questions, Answered
Sometimes. The low back can refer pain into the hip and buttock, which is why your evaluation checks both. Knowing the real source keeps you from treating the wrong area.
Yes. Strengthening and mobility work can reduce pain and improve how you walk and move, even when arthritis is present. Many people use physical therapy to stay active and manage arthritis day to day.
It depends on how long you’ve been dealing with hip pain and what your evaluation finds. A full plan runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, typically over 8–10 weeks. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you’ll always know which phase you’re in and what’s left, not an open-ended string of appointments.
